The most direct way to find out whether diving is for you. After a short briefing and a shallow-water skills session, you descend on a real reef with a PADI Instructor at your side. No certification, swimming qualification or prior experience is required.

How the days run

Step 1Paperwork, medical questionnaire and a briefing on how the equipment works.
Step 2Confined shallow water: breathing underwater, clearing your mask, and regulator recovery.
Step 3Walk in from the shore or take the boat to the reef, then a guided dive to a maximum of 12 metres.
Step 4Debrief, photos handed over, and a walkthrough of what certification would involve.

Questions before you book

I've never dived before — can I still try it?
Yes. Discover Scuba Diving is built for first-timers with zero experience. You'll get a briefing on land, then an instructor stays with you the entire time in shallow, calm water. No certification required.
Do I need to know how to swim?
Basic swimming comfort is required for certification courses like Open Water. For Discover Scuba Diving, strong swimming isn't required — your instructor keeps you supported throughout.
Shore dive or boat dive?
The shore dive starts from the beach, with no boat ride. The boat dive takes you out to a reef by boat. The shore + boat option gives you one of each, and costs ₹1,999 less than booking both separately.
Is the breathing air actually safe?
We test and filter our air regularly rather than assuming a tank is fine because it's full. This is one of the things we're most particular about — ask us about it on the day if you'd like specifics.
What's the water temperature like?
Havelock's water sits around 28–30 °C year-round, so a standard 3 mm wetsuit (which we provide) is comfortable for most divers.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, 10 years for both Discover Scuba Diving and the Open Water Diver course.
How far in advance should I book?
During peak season (October to May), booking a few days ahead helps guarantee your preferred time slot. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll check same-day availability too.
What's the difference between Discover Scuba and Open Water certification?
Discover Scuba is a single guided experience with no certification — good for trying it out. Open Water is a multi-day course that certifies you to dive anywhere in the world, independently, for life.
